Today was a pretty awful day. Nothing went the way it should and everything that could have gone wrong did. As awful as it was and as much as I wanted it to end I can't forget about the little things that I am so grateful for and got me through the day.
-The scriptures: even though I woke up with a pounding headache at 5:30 in the morning I was able to sit in my bed and read my scriptures and felt at peace for a while. They are seriously such a physical, mental and spiritual blessing.
-My Mom: She listened to my complaints on the way to school today. I know I can always count on her to love me and just let me cry to her.
-Bubbles: After retrying my chemistry experiment for the third time, I finally saw the bubbles I had been looking for. I have never been so excited to see bubbles in my entire life. I literally yelled 'BUBBLES' and jumped up and down clapping my hands. I felt like the fish on Finding Nemo. I now have a whole new appreciation for bubbles.
-Makena: This girl seriously deserves a whole blog post all to herself, but now is not that day. She is my best friend and listens to me vent and cry and be frustrated. She knows exactly what to say and exactly what to do to cheer me up and keep me distracted from the awfulness of the day.
-Faith: Sounds weird but all today as things just got worse and I felt like just hiding in a corner and crying my eyes out I thought about tomorrow. Today can't last forever, tomorrow is a new day and will be better. I would like to attribute to the gospel, because without it think it would be easy to get caught up in the small picture and forget that today is just a small speck in eternity. There is still so much to look forward to (like Saturday when I get to go through the temple (: ).
So moral of the story is sometimes life just sucks, but there is always something to be thankful for.
"To express gratitude is gracious and honorable, to enact gratitude is generous and noble, but to live with gratitude ever in our hearts is to touch Heaven" -President Thomas S. Monson
